WILLIAM CHARLES ADAMS
It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our courageous Bill on May 9th, 2021 at the age of 82. Over the past decade he battled serious health problems with his trademark optimism and dry humour, returning to us with no complaints – just happy to be home with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Leslie; sons Fletcher (Suzanne) and Jay; sister Gillian Smith and family; brothers-in-law Rees Jones and family; Rick (Mary) Jones and family; sister-in-law Ronalee and nephew Ainsley Bamendine; and many relatives in Winnipeg and England.
Bill was born in Winnipeg, but spent his early years in parts of eastern Canada. He was employed for the better part of his working years as a sales representative and retired in 2003.
Bill was down-to-earth and a kind and generous man who never said a bad word about anyone. He had a love of the outdoors, was a voracious reader, should have been a cowboy, did leatherwork and made walking canes. A favourite tradition over many years was starting any road trip with Bill leading the family in singing along to Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again” - always loudly and usually off key. “Scouter Bill” spent years as a leader with Scouts Canada.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
