ANGUS EASTMAN

ANGUS EASTMAN

It is with great sadness that the family of Angus Eastman announce his passing on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the Concordia Hospital. He was surrounded by his family until he lost his battle and has rejoined the love of his life, Yvonne Eastman (nee Land)

Angus was born in Lake St Martin, Manitoba on January 16, 1949 and delivered by a midwife who blessed him with the name "Nanabush”.  In Anishinaabe culture this is the trickster and Uncle Bush as we came to call him over the years certainly lived up to his given name. He loved to laugh and pull pranks on unsuspecting persons and the sound of his deep laughter that came from within him would make others laugh along with him.  In his 70 years, Angus made many friends who became a part of his extended family; from the Anderson family in the Fairford, Manitoba area, that was there for him in his younger days, to his immediate family and closing his life with his Riverwood church family.

Angus is survived by his younger sister Jean Kemash (Wpg); younger brother George Weir (BC); his children Melanie and Thomas, his nieces, Sylvia Eastman ("Pumpkin"), Kelly Medwick, Robin Kemash-Robbins, Christina Eastman and Honey Eastman; nephews Michael Angus (Tanis), James Eastman, Alexander Eastman, Clint Eastman (Jocelyne), Riel Eastman and many other great-nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his beloved Yvonne, his mother Sophie Weir (Sumner), his brothers, Joseph, Alexander and Peter Eastman and his sister, Linda Angus (Eastman).

Uncle, you are dearly missed and will always be near in spirit in the sweet bye and bye. We love you, now rest easy, you are at peace.

A celebration of life is planned for Wednesday, April 24th, 2019 at 257 Riverton Avenue, The Factory, Riverwood Church for 2pm.
