ALEXANDRE DE LIMA BORGES

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, son and friend Alexandre De Lima Borges. With his children by his side, Alexandre passed at 10:16pm on his 58th birthday.

 

Alexandre was born October 20th, 1962 to Manuel Goncalves Borges and Rosa Barcelos De Lima in the town of Vila Nova in Terceira Island, Portugal. In 1975 at the age of 13, Alexandre, his parents and six siblings immigrated to Canada where he immediately started working construction. He retired 43 years later due to health concerns. He took pride in working every day and being there for his loved ones.

 

He is predeceased by his sister Conceicao Borges, and his parents Rosa Barcelos De Lima and Manuel Goncalves Borges . He is survived by his sons Alex Borges II, Myles Borges, his daughter Amanda Borges, his ex-wife and the mother to his children; Ann Maire Borges, as well as his brothers Adelino, Manuel II; his sisters Lucy, Maria, Rosa, and countless nieces, nephews, and family friends.

 

Alexandre enjoyed spending time with family and making everyone laugh. He never missed an opportunity to go fishing with his sons and nephews. In honour of his final wishes; his ashes will be laid to rest with his mother’s and father’s graves at the Assumption Committal Cemetery in Headingly, MB
