CHERYL "CURLI" CURRIE
It is with Great sadness we announce the passing of Cheryl (Curli) Currie at St. Boniface General Hospital.
Predeceased by her parents, father Edwin and Mother Ena (McRae) Currie.
Currie is survived by brother Jim, John (Georgi) and family. Including also extended family and special friends Doreen, Jean (Bean), Rita and Barbara.
Cheryl was born and raised in Marathon, Ontario. Once in Winnipeg, she worked numerous years at Winnipeg Municipal Hospitals / Riverview Center.
Curli enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, gardening, coffee outings and most of all sports like Winnipeg Jets, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Toronto Blue Jays and curling.
Curli’s main passion was shuffleboard from early 1970’s until 2003 participating in many Canadian and provincial shuffleboard championships. She was a great mentor and developed special bonds over the years. In 2012 she was inducted into the hall of fame from the Manitoba Shuffleboard Association.
A special thank you to all staff in Emergency and 5EGM at SBGH.
In accordance with Cheryl’s wishes, no funeral service. Cheryl would especially appreciate donation to Royal Canadian Legion or Charity of Choice.
