TRAUTE KLEIN

(née Wollenberg) B.A., B.Ed., M.A.

Traute passed peacefully and will be dearly missed by her son, Arno; siblings, Hans (Louise), Gina (Rudy); sisters-in-law, Brigitte and Freda; many nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by parents, Wilhelm and Adina; as well as brothers, Kurt and Gerry.

In September 1952 Traute arrived on the ship, Beaverbrae, in Quebec City. The family settled in Winnipeg on Manitoba Avenue. Traute attended St. John's High School, where she kept up with the best students in her class. Later she lived many years on Lipton Street.

In her working years Traute was an educator in Winnipeg and Alberta. She studied at the Goethe Institute in Germany. Her specialty was teaching German at night school at the University of Manitoba, where many of her students were professors. She also taught French, Math, Social Studies and other subjects. Traute also contributed to many worthwhile charities, both financially and as a volunteer.

Hobbies include traveling, painting, sketching, writing, gardening and music. Traute played piano and organ in church, taught Sunday School and sang in choirs.

She studied the genealogy of the Wollenberg family.

Traute has gone on to her heavenly reward. Some of her last words were: "I'm so looking forward to seeing Jesus."
