Gerry was born in St. Leon, Manitoba to Armand Toupin and Albina (nee Labossiere) in 1938. In 1959, she married Joe and threw her energies into raising their two children. Mom was a kind, caring, and generous soul who loved to laugh and over the years, she made many lifelong friends. Mom and Dad loved to travel and took many trips, especially to Las Vegas. Mom loved gardening, canning, and cooking and she made the best tourtière and desserts. Many wonderful memories were made spending summers at their cabin at Twin Lake Beach. Mom loved her family - her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always in her thoughts and in her heart and even when Mom was struggling with her own challenges, her top priority was always her family and friends.
Respecting Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank Brenda Dozenko, the Southern Health Palliative Care Team (Dr. Reimer, Pauline, Bridgette and Debbie) as well as the Home Care Staff (Janice, Amanda, Melissa, Caroline, Susie, Pat, Helena, Ellen, and Joy) for your support and wonderful care you provided to Mom. We could not have kept Mom at home without your support – Thank you.
