LAURABELLE GAY LOTT
(née McCorquodale)
In the early morning hours of October 8, 2020, comforted by her daughter at her side, our loving mother went to be with her Heavenly Father.
Laura Gay grew up in Winnipeg attending Daniel McIntyre Collegiate, where she met her dear lifelong friend. Edna Ripley. Laura Gay married and had four children. Over the years, Mom held jobs as a bank teller, as a hostess at the Beachcomber restaurant, as a bookkeeper for both Taylor, Brazzell, McCaffrey Law Offices, and Kings Florist, and later in life as a respite worker for Child and Family Services. It was her role as a mother however, that was her greatest joy and purpose.
Many amazing memories were created with her family at the Winnitoba cottage in the Whiteshell where among many things she enjoyed taking her beloved dogs on long walks through the boreal forest.
Mom was Predeceased by the life changing loss of her eleven-year-old son Clint; her mother and father, Pearl and Wilfred (Corky) McCorquodale; her sister and brother-in-law, Melba and Bob Spencer; her sister-in-law, Maureen McCorquodale; her aunt and uncle, Noreen and Forbes Menzies; and Jack Lott, her ex-husband and father of their children.
Laura Gay remains forever in the hearts of her children Brent (Jaik), Jodene, and Doug (Julie); and her granddaughter Chloe Rose. She will also be greatly missed by her brother, Kent McCorquodale (Noreen); sister, Lynne Cuthbert (Bob); and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Mom struggled with Alzheimer’s Disease during her last years. Through it all, her faith in God and her loving and kind spirit continued to shine through.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada. Friends and relatives are encouraged to share in a photo-tribute, stories, and condolences for the family by commenting in the comment section.
We are forever grateful to the staff at St. Norbert Personal Care home for the loving care provided to our mother.

A private interment will take place at 2:00pm at the Waverly Memorial Gardens on Friday, October 16, 2020.
