Corey  Miller

August 9, 1946 - May 6, 2018

It is with deep sadness that the Miller family says good-bye to Corey Stanley Miller, who passed away at the Health Sciences Center on May 6, 2018.  The Miller family found out that their loving husband and father had cancer only three weeks before he passed.  The family is still in disbelief with his sudden passing.

Corey was survived by his wife, Caroll, and three sons, Darrin (Betty), Darnell (Marle) and Jason (Kerri);  He enjoyed watching his eight grand-children grow, Jordan (Kelly), Kenton, Robin (Adam), Jessie (Meagan), Stephany (Trevor), James (Emmy), Samantha (Cody) and Jaylynn.  He was also blessed with 5.3 great-grandchildren, brother Rick (Linda), sister Ester (Vernon), brother-in-law John, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much.

Corey was born in Moncton, New Brunswick on August 9, 1946.   He was a man of many talents: tool and die maker at New Flyer Industries by trade; builder by passion!

He spent his time with his sons and brothers building the family cabin in hopes to have his family gather together and enjoy for years to come!  As the cabin was the project that never ended; so did his extended family!  Corey was known around the island as the man that would help anyone out!  If you couldn’t find him at his cabin, all you would have to do is listen for the hum of a welder or the bang of a hammer!  You would often find Corey at a neighboring cabin (aka extended family) discussing the next project over a cup of coffee and fresh cookies!

It is with comfort knowing Corey is now reunited with his mom Ruth, dad Charlie and sister Marilyn.

It was Corey’s final wish to have a Celebration of Life in his honor, it will be held at 5 pm on June 1st at 103 Robert Koop Road, in his home town of Landmark, Manitoba. Please join the family and share your memories of Corey Miller.  Please bring a lawn chair, this event will be outdoors. A snack will be provided.
