Shan Pereux

August 14, 1960 - January 30, 2019

Shan Elizabeth Pereux (née Jones)

Shan was born in Calgary, Alberta on August 14, 1960 to Mervyn Jones and Gwyneth Mary Rosser Jones.

She moved to Winnipeg with her parents and younger brother, David Martin Jones in December, 1965. Her high school years were spent at St. Mary’s Academy and John Taylor Collegiate. Shan is survived by her children, Stephan Alain Pereux and Payton Jaide Pereux; and nephew Jaxon Jones.  She was predeceased by her parents Mervyn (2010) and Gwyneth (2011); as well as her brother David (2017).

For most of her adult life Shan struggled with addiction. She found moments of great strength in which she put up a good and valiant fight, but in the end it took its toll. Her children would like to remember her for her infectious laugh and keen sense of humour. She loved listening to Shania Twain at full volume and watching any Sandra Bullock Movie, in particular, Miss Congeniality. She loved her cat “Teddy Pusghetti” as well as her daytime soap operas.

Thank you to Peter Milliner, Shan’s cousin, for showing her support and encouragement over the past few years of her life.

Cremation has taken place and a private gathering will be held at a future date.
