Olive Riddle

March 2, 1936 - February 18, 2017

On Saturday February 18, 2017 Olive Matilda Riddle, wife, mother, sister and aunt passed away at the age of 80 in the Health Sciences Centre.

Olive's memory will forever be cherished by her husband and best friend Reginald,  their children Jason and Chantelle (David) Yarycky;  sister Eva Yaworsky and brother John Kozak. She will also be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Olive was born in Ituna, Saskatchewan to Onufrey and Anna Kozak. She moved to Winnipeg in 1958 where she would eventually meet her future husband Reginald. The two would be married on September 17 1960.

In Winnipeg, they raised a family of two children their son Jason and daughter Chantelle. Being a family of 4 in the 70s meant long family road trips to various vacation destinations around North America. These road trips would be fondly remembered through out her life as times filled with laughter, fun and adventure as well as the occasional threat to turn the car around and go home if her children didn't start behaving.

Growing up on a farm Olive was surrounded by animals. Her family in Saskatchewan always had 3 dogs an assortment of cats and various farm animals with them at all times. It was these childhood experiences that formed Olive's  life long love of animals that stayed with her all of her life. Her cats Angus, Baldrick, Lola and Cleo were considered by Olive as a part of the family.
