BOB "MOOSE" JACKSON

It is with great sadness that the family of Bob “Moose” Jackson announces his passing at the age of 84 years. Bob passed away peacefully on January 31, 2017, surrounded by family.

Beloved husband of Cory Jackson. Loving father of Sheila (John) and Joan (Kari). He was predeceased by his parents and his sister.

Bob brightened everyone’s day with one of his many, many jokes and life stories. “Moose” was an active and honourary member of the Music Professionals of Manitoba. He joined Local 190 of the AFM in 1957. He first became an Executive Board member in 1966 and then Vice-President in 1997 until the end of 2000; at which time he went back to being on the Executive Board. In 2013, he was given Executive Board Emeritus status.

Bob knew from a young age that he wanted to be a musician. From the early days performing at Clear Lake to the many weddings, old-folks homes afternoon performances, to his final gigs at the Fort Garry Hotel, his love for music filled the lives of many.

We wish to sincerely thank the doctors, O.T. and nursing staff at Grace Hospital for their patience and watchful eye over Bob while he was there.

Cremation has taken place.  According to Bob’s wishes there will be no service.

Over his lifetime, Bob made over 100 blood donations to the Manitoba Canadian Blood Services. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Manitoba Canadian Blood Services, The Grace Hospital Foundation or The Music Professionals of Manitoba, local 190 Room 201-180 Market Ave. East, Winnipeg MB R3B 0P7.
